  • address的基本含义有三:①指正式的、有准备的讲话,含有讲话有目的、有分量、有长度或讲话者与众不同等意味。②指应付困难的或新的局面以及与陌生人交往时表现出的机敏、得体,从而能博得他人好感或获得成功,可灵活译为“儒雅的风度”“得体的举止”“圆滑的手段”“巧妙的本领”等。③指人们生活、工作地点的市镇、街区、门牌号和电话、传真号等,即通讯地址。有时也包括姓名。
  • 表示“在某地址”时,该地址如明确具体, address前用介词at,如较笼统,则可用in。
  • address的复数(addresses)可以表示“(求爱时所献的)殷勤”。

    • v. (动词)

  • address用作动词时其意思是“向…讲话”“向…提出”“致力于”,此外还可表示“在(信封或包裹)上写地址”或“称呼”,用于科技术语还可指“存入或取出”。
